Art Gallery mayhem

I arrive at an art gallery and believe it is near to the Interactive Arts degree show. I have dropped out of the course but at the same time have something to show. I cannot be bothered looking for a reserved space because I cannot be bothered to look. There are other students/artists putting finishing off work. I stop by a display and start putting up small stickers in a random pattern around a corner of one of the displays. I look left and can hear and intuitively see that the display to my left is based on 2001 the film with astronauts and spacecraft.

I have a square cut from A4 size paper and open it out to see a pattern drawn around the corners creating sections of a flattened mobius strip. However two of the curves are the wrong way around. Maybe its this that is creating the illusion of an extra twist. This I begin to place at the edge of the space display. I know that I'm using someone else's space and interfering with their artwork but go ahead with this anyway.

I also remember a dream where I have an argument with my Mum (forgotten the content). She walks out of the room. I apologise quietly and then next time I see her I see that she does not look like the Mum I remember. She is younger, with thicker hair and more forgiving.

Interpretations - I'm trying to overcome laziness. I am trying to get noticed (the art) and am using methods that are too sneaky for real life. This indicates that I need to get myself out there and may need to use methods that may upset other people or delight them. Things may not work smoothly but this dream indicates the requirement for effort and creativity.

Bath Shower woman dream

I am having a shower in a flat or house. I can hear other people at a distance. I turn the shower on and then look over only to find a beautiful naked woman sharing the shower with me. We are both standing up. She has a latin complexion and is very curvy and tall. During the dream her hair changes from long to short (almost crew cut) and when I look away she dissapears only to reappear again. I think I'm going insane. We shower each other and then I hear a shout. She vanishes for a final time.

Then I see there are two sets of taps at each end of the bath and two shower tubes attached squirting water at high pressure onto the inside floor of the bath. I try to turn one off only to put it on full. The water level immediately flows above the overflow and I hear a shout outside. Fiddling with the shower hoses I turn one off only to find the other very hot. Lifting my feet from the bath basin I manage to avoid the hot hose and turn the other taps off.

Dealing with hot water - situation with money and jobs. I feel great when I wake up.

Captain Jack Dreams

I had a series of dreams last night where I was either the character Captain Jack (from Doctor Who / Torchwood) are close to him. On most occasions I was running with him or doing things in dangerous situations. I woke up several times with little sleep between 6 and 8am and felt refreshed and unbeatable (the last occasion about 11am). There was one dream I found interesting:

I am following Captain Jack into a dark room, possibly an empty nightclub. Then I see him become trapped in a web of long thin strands truncating at a vanishing point or singularity in the middle of the room. The web appears from nowhere and only covers the quadrant we are in. I run towards him but the closer I get the tighter the web gets until I am also trapped. The threads are like steel yet are white and thin. They are very tight and are thicker over my face and upper body. Also there is this smell coming from the threads like electricity. It is unpleasant and energy sapping.

I also remember Freddy Kruger appearing as a small puppet doing little in an earlier dream.

Dual Perspectives

This is part of a dream that I had about a week ago.

I'm indoors watching a virtual projection of someone performing a stunt from 2 small platforms (like diving boards) that are set at impossible angles and indeterminate distance from each other. The scene is too small so I zoom in and in the process become the person performing the stunt. This is occuring outdoors above a tall building whilst my body is inside and sat down.

By concentrating I slow down time and performing the twisting stunt as if in slow motion. At several points divided into fractions of a second my viewpoint switches from participant to observer and I get the feeling that I'm driving two bodies (people) simultaneously. Yet I can also detect the shifts of perception of parallel processing as discrete but very small moments of time.

Eventually I direct the jumping stunt from point 1 to point 2 in space and relax in my chair. I am aware that other people are present too.

Dream Cycles

Series of dreams in the last month following a similar pattern where I am in a museum or large building exploring and looking for something - either bumping into people or translated back or across time (to Roman era/primitive contemp society). Often I am at a festival/campsite or historical town looking and getting distracted. Sometimes its a bag I cannot find or its an object or a person that has dissapeared. Time passes rapidly from day to night.

In a couple of cases I am sucked into a TV and become the characters. This could be a science fiction series or it is like been transported back to my Mum's place. All of these elements appear to depict my state of indecision and looking for something to take me forward.
